The Student Employment Program Assistant provides high-level support to the Assistant Director for Campus Center and Student Employment. A student will have typically worked at least two semesters before being placed into this role after an application/interview process. Students must have previously demonstrated excellence in their “entry-level” CCSE position as well as maturity, responsibility, creativity and the ability to build rapport with fellow team members. The Student Employment Program Assistant is a leadership position with progressive responsibilities in the administrative aspects of the CCSE student employment program including hiring, on-boarding, leadership development, meeting facilitation, and separation. They play a significant role in the planning of fall training days each August, working with other student leaders and pro staff to identify relevant topics and coordinate various logistics. This student leader also coordinates various initiatives, large and small, to create a welcoming and positive environment for and facilitate communication among all student team members and to recognize and celebrate team members’ efforts and successes. These include weekly electronic newsletters, coordination of monthly all-team meetings, planning and implementation of the annual Student Team Member Appreciation Week as well as end-of-the semester gatherings to celebrate all team members’ hard work and recognize graduating seniors. The Student Employment Program Assistant also serves as an important liaison for the team to professional staff members.
